STATEMENT OF FAITH
We unqualifiedly affirm and believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration in the original languages of the Bible (both the Old and New Testaments); the creation of man by the direct act of God; the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; His identification as the Son of God; His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His power to save men from sin; the new birth through the regeneration by the Holy Spirit; and the gift of eternal life by the grace of God.
MISSION
The mission of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools shall be to develop and promote Christian education in the state of Georgia primarily by assisting, supporting, and coordinating the work of member schools of the corporation and other interested parties and organizations.
HISTORY
The Georgia Association of Christian Schools (GACS) was organized in 1970 with ten (10) charter members for the purpose of coordinating the activities of a conservative group of Christian schools within the state. Over the years, it has provided a means of disseminating needed information, protecting Christian schools from government encroachment, and offering an increasing number of services and programs to its member schools.
GACS was incorporated under the laws of the State of Georgia on March 3, 1976, and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. The Association lists a membership of over sixty schools with a total membership of more than 9,000 students in 2008-2009.
